La fibre de basalte inaugure une nouvelle ère de haute fréquence...

Avec la densification des stations de base 5G, la multiplication des antennes de téléphonie mobile et l'expansion des réseaux de fibre optique, les exigences relatives aux matériaux des équipements de communication évoluent d'un niveau simplement « adéquat » à un niveau « extrême » : faibles pertes diélectriques, blindage électromagnétique élevé, construction légère et résistance au vieillissement. Grâce à des propriétés telles qu'une faible constante diélectrique, une isolation naturelle et une forte résistance aux intempéries, la fibre de basalte s'impose dans des composants essentiels comme les antennes de stations de base, les éléments de renforcement des câbles optiques et les radômes. Loin de remplacer les matériaux existants, elle offre un équilibre optimal entre performance et rentabilité pour les applications haute fréquence et haut débit.
Résiste à 1300 °C sans se percer ! Un Fi...
Récemment, après des années de recherche et développement, l'Université textile de Wuhan est parvenue à transformer du basalte dur en fibres plus fines qu'un cheveu et à les tisser pour créer des « combinaisons en écailles de dragon de basalte » capables de résister à des températures de 1 300 °C. Cette avancée majeure, qui a suscité l'intérêt des plus grandes entreprises textiles, permet non seulement de pallier les insuffisances de protection des combinaisons de pompiers traditionnelles, mais aussi d'obtenir des performances supérieures à moindre coût. Des représentants du Bureau des sapeurs-pompiers de Wuhan se sont récemment rendus à l'université pour commander un premier lot de ces combinaisons. Cette innovation a suscité l'intérêt non seulement des entreprises locales du Hubei, mais aussi de nombreuses grandes sociétés textiles à travers le pays.

Faisabilité de l'application de fibres de basalte à de petits U...

Le BFRP convient aux structures soumises à des charges faibles à moyennes sur les petits drones et présente des avantages en termes de réduction de poids, de résistance à la corrosion et d'amortissement/réduction des vibrations ; toutefois, son utilisation est déconseillée dans les applications exigeant une rigidité élevée. Si la rigidité n'est pas un critère déterminant et que le coût l'est, le BFRP offre un rapport coût-efficacité nettement supérieur au CFRP.
